We participate with the following insurances: Excellus BlueCross BlueShield/Anthem, United, Empire/NYSHIP, Aetna, and Veterans Affairs. Amount due at time of service will vary depending on your coverage. Contact us to find out more about what your plan covers and what your financial responsibility might be.

Out-of-network options

Should you have coverage for acupuncture with a different insurance company than listed above, we are happy to provide a superbill via email that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.

economic hardship

We currently have a donation-funded program available for individuals needing financial assistance in order to commit to a treatment plan and receive acupuncture. Reach out to us if you are experiencing financial hardship and are interested in knowing more about this option. Tigress Acupuncture, PLLC believes in expanded access to acupuncture care and is committed to our community.

medicare acupuncture coverage

While Medicare has added acupuncture coverage (12 visits for the treatment of low back pain with no specific cause), licensed acupuncturists are not approved payees at this time and Tigress Acupuncture, PLLC cannot bill Medicare. Becoming Medicare-approved providers is currently being politically pursued by the acupuncture profession, but as of now, only professions that are currently in the Medicare system can bill for covered acupuncture treatments (medical doctors and chiropractors, for example). However, in New York State, only licensed acupuncturists can perform acupuncture. Our recommendation is to find a provider that may be dually licensed, which would allow them to bill Medicare and provide acupuncture services.
